Dental Services to Invest

When was the last time you had an appointment with a dental professional? Many people wait until they are in pain before they start calling local dentists to find someone who can help them. A better approach is to see a dentist regularly and make use of several of the basic treatments they have to offer. Here are a few examples of dental services you can invest in now and reap the benefits for years to come.

Annual Dental Exams

If you don’t make use of any other service, it’s important to call a North York dentist and arrange for annual dental exams. These exams are intended to determine if your teeth and gums are in basically good condition, or if there are issues beginning to develop. If the latter happens to be the case, the dental professional will go over options for treatment, help you set up a schedule, and prevent those conditions from getting worse and ultimately affecting your health.

Teeth Cleaning

Next to an annual exam, going in for a teeth cleaning at least once a year is a good idea. While it may be true that you always brush after meals and use floss at least a few times each week, there is still some residue trapped on and between the teeth. Over time, the residue increases the potential for damage to the teeth and the gums. By having your teeth cleaned, you minimize the risk of developing a number of dental issues.

Remember that as your teeth are being cleaned, the professional is also on the lookout for anything that indicates some issue has developed since your last exam. From noticing the enamel is weakening to detecting a hairline cavity, finding the problem now means it can be resolved before it poses a serious threat to your dental health.

Teeth Whitening

So many things can affect the shade of your teeth that it’s impossible to completely reverse the yellowing effect on your own. That’s where having professional whitening treatments makes a difference. You could try over the counter products, but they don’t work as quickly and you run the risk of overdoing the treatments and ending up with teeth that are a little too white. If you choose to leave dental services like this in the capable hands of your dental team, they will ensure the treatments leave you with a brighter smile but without the pitfalls that come with other approaches to getting rid of the yellowed look.

Teeth Straightening

Crooked teeth will ruin what is otherwise a great smile. Whether you have one crooked tooth or several, it makes sense to seek help from an expert in dentistry in North York. Remember that there options other than traditional metal braces. You could be a prime candidate for clear aligners that help to gradually correct the problem and leave you with a mouth full of perfectly straight teeth. The only way to find the right solution is to consult with a dental professional.

Why live with any dental condition or run the risk of developing dental problems? There are so many solutions today that take little time and are very affordable. Call your dentist today and start making use of these and other services. The impact on your smile, your dental health, and even general health will make the effort worth it.

WE ARE OPEN!

Hello!

We are so excited to announce that the Royal College of Dental Surgeons has just given us the green light to begin seeing all non-essential and deferred treatment! Under the guidance of the RCDSO, all dentists in Ontario will now be able to re-open their practices for routine care and treatment. Up until now, due to COVID19 pandemic restrictions, dentists have only been permitted to provide emergency dental treatment. This means that we have been unable to provide any other type of dental procedures since mid-March.

We can't wait to get back to work and begin seeing our patients again! We are spending this week implementing the changes mandated by the ministry of health and the dental association and will resume a normal schedule starting next week. You can rest assured that the safety of our community, our patients, and our team members are of utmost importance and we will have implemented additional safety measures and precautions. This is in addition to our already strict infection control protocols that were already in place.

Please be patient with us and give us some time to contact you; if you have had an appointment rescheduled, you are at the top of our list to call. We will be doing our best to ensure that everyone is re-booked as soon as possible. However, if you would like to get in sooner, or are having a concern, please feel free to give us a call.

What can I expect at my next dental appointment?

  • We will be pre-screening all patients prior to their appointments, and one more time upon arrival.
  • We are requesting that only the person who is booked for an appointment enter the office where ever possible (parents and caregivers will be permitted if necessary).
  • Upon arrival for your appointment, you will be asked to use hand sanitizer at the front entrance, and also to wear a mask until you are seated in the treatment room. (A mask will be provided if you do not have your own)
  • We will be staggering appointment times to limit the number of people in our offices to promote and encourage physical distancing.
  • There are hand hygiene stations located throughout the offices.
  • We have installed plexiglass barriers in the waiting room to protect our patients and team members.
