Here at North York Smile Centre, we offer a state of the art Invisalign solution to fix your misalignment, extra spaces between your teeth, and overcrowding, among other issues in just a matter of few months instead of 2-3 years required with traditional metal braces.

With our Invisalign treatment, you can avoid the metal wires and brackets of the traditional braces and get straight, properly aligned teeth in a simple and affordable way.

What Are Invisalign Trays?

Invisalign is today’s alternative to the traditional metal braces with two clear benefits: first, as the name suggests, the Invisalign is invisible clear braces, so it’s designed for patients who want to don’t like the aesthetics of the braces’ wires and bracket so they can keep their smiles clean during the treatment.

Second, the Invisalign is removable, so you can opt to remove it when eating or brushing your teeth. The Invisalign—according to many patients—, is also much more comfortable to wear during your sleep.

How Invisalign Works

As we know, traditional braces use metal wires, brackets, and bands to fix the teeth’s alignment. Invisalign, on the other hand, uses clear, nearly invisible plastic aligners (clear braces). The Invisalign is custom-designed to fit your teeth perfectly according to your dental condition. Depending on the severity, you might need to switch between multiple Invisalign trays over the duration of your treatment until your teeth are shifted into their proper place.

In a typical Invisalign treatment, you will get a new set of clear trays that are custom-tailored to fit your current dental contours. Invisalign trays are designed to be removable and disposable after a week or two weeks of wear, so they are also much more affordable than your traditional metal braces.

Since the Invisalign trays are almost invisible, most people won’t notice that you are straightening your teeth – which is one of the reasons why people choose Invisalign trays over braces.

While there might be some discomfort upon initial wear, the aligners can be removed when you eat and should be removed when you floss or brush your teeth. Since the Invisalign is removable, it is also much easier to clean to maintain its hygiene.

The Benefits of Invisalign

Not everyone likes the look of the traditional braces, even if nowadays they come in various attractive colors. The Invisalign, on the other hand, is clear and almost invisible, so people hardly notice them.

If you are among those who don’t want to let others know that you are fixing your teeth’s alignment at the moment, then the Invisalign might be the better option for you.

You can easily remove the Invisalign trays anytime you want. The traditional braces are notorious for being problematic when you are brushing your teeth, and it’s also much more difficult to clean the braces itself. The Invisalign, however, is removable so you don’t have to wear it during eating (to maintain hygiene), and it is also much easier to clean. Of course, you can also remove those clear braces when brushing or flossing your teeth.

Teeth alignment will always cause a certain amount of discomfort due to the nature of the treatment (your teeth are, after all, forced to move). However, the Invisalign offers a gentler pressure compared to traditional braces so it is much more comfortable to wear. Also, the Invisalign rubs smoothly against your gums and won’t cut your gums accidentally.

We Believe in Your Smile!

Dear Smile Centre Family,

The recent Ontario government announcement declaring a state of emergency and issuing of a new stay-at-home order has caused some uncertainty. We wanted to let you know that all of our Smile Centre locations are still OPEN.

As dental professionals we have been classified as an essential part of healthcare and will continue to provide both preventive, restorative, and emergency treatment. We will not be providing some elective services such as teeth whitening at this time.

We are grateful to remain open as we know how important it is to stay on top of dental issues before they become major problems. Good oral health is directly related to good overall health. Please know that we are doing everything we can to ensure that we go above and beyond all of the recommended safety protocols to keep you, your loved ones, and our team healthy and safe. That is, and always will be our highest priority. Our strict protocols include: Advanced pre screening, using Hepa air filters, wearing advanced PPE, and limiting the number of people in the office by making virtual consultations available. Our offices have always prided ourselves on being experts when it comes to asepsis and sterilizations protocols and it should be noted that there has been no evidence of COVID spread related to dental offices at this time.

Should you have any questions, or wish to postpone or delay any upcoming appointments, please feel free to reach out. We completely understand that not everyone is comfortable receiving dental treatment at this time and we will do our best to accommodate all of your needs while making sure that you feel safe.

Continuing to follow our enhanced safety guidelines, that we have had in place since June, will help to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.  Underneath these layers of extra protection, rest assured that we are still the same, caring, attentive providers we have always been!

Thank You for your trust during these uncertain times,

Your Smile Centre
