Q1: Good morning, Dr. Jesin! As an introduction for our readers, could you take us through your experience in All on Four dentistry?

Absolutely! I graduated from the University of Toronto in 1985, and since then, I've dedicated 35 years of my career to practicing dentistry in North York. Throughout my career, I’ve gained extensive experience in areas such as bone grafts and sedation dentistry, and I’m currently in the middle of an IV sedation certification. Since 2005, I would guess that I’ve had the privilege of performing over 100 successful All On Four treatments.

Q2: Impressive! With so much experience to draw from in the industry, what would you say is the biggest draw of All On Four to potential new patients in the modern age?

I would say that the biggest draw of All On Four right now is that it’s one of the most comprehensive solutions out there for patients who want to replace an entire arch of teeth for a complete and functional smile.

The main purpose of All On Four is to transition your teeth from dysfunction to an impressive 95% of your original dental function in just a single day, which has the potential to improve your quality of life in a major way and can help you avoid otherwise invasive and expensive bone grafting procedures.

All On Four is also a lot more painless compared to traditional treatments, and can be completed in as short of a timeframe as 4-6 hours.

Q3: Building off of that, how would you say technology has influenced the impact of All On Four on modern dentistry when it comes to patient care?

Technology has played an absolutely massive role in revolutionizing the impact of All On Four. Over the past 20 years, advancements in dental technology have enabled us to accomplish so much more in a single day, and patients can now transition from having no teeth to walking out with a fully functional set of teeth in just one day thanks to the integration of digital photography into modern dental practices.

Q4: Well said. Now, for patients interested in All On Four and how it might be able to help them, who would you say is the ideal candidate for this procedure?

Honestly, when it comes to All On Four, almost everybody is a great candidate. Whether you have multiple missing teeth, severely damaged or deteriorated teeth, or even no teeth at all, All On Four can address a lot of different dental conditions, and is the longest-lasting solution out there for permanent teeth.

All On Four also minimizes the risk of treatment failure for patients compared to other treatments, and can benefit every age group, although it’s most commonly sought by older patients, since younger people are generally able to be more proactive in taking care of their teeth. It’s also worth mentioning that smokers will tend to see higher rates of tooth breakdown in the long term.

Q5: Could you briefly go over the process of getting All On Four for your teeth? What does the process look like for new patients?

The process of getting All On Four for your teeth usually starts with an initial consultation where we take the time to understand your desires, expectations, and previous dental experience, all of which will allow us to customize your treatment plan to meet your specific needs.

Generally, you can expect one or two appointments dedicated to collecting a detailed history and taking scans of your teeth and mouth with the help of digital photography and CT scans. After the record-taking stage, your next appointment, usually within two to three weeks, will allow us to proceed with the All On Four treatment, where we will place your implants and attach them to your teeth. This appointment might involve sedation to help you remain comfortable, or local anesthesia to keep you from feeling any pain if sedation isn’t needed.

Q6: Perfect. Lastly, what would you say is the most important thing for patients to look out for when searching for a dentist they can trust for their new All On Four treatment?

Finding the right dentist can definitely make all the difference. My advice for new patients would be to make sure to ask your dentist for before and after pictures of their previous All On Four cases to let you assess the quality of their work and get a visual representation of the potential outcomes you can expect. Meeting them in person and getting a sense of their confidence and expertise can also be one of the best ways to get an accurate sense of your dentist’s abilities.
