Dr. Michael Oellinger – General Dentist

Dr. Michael Oellinger brings a unique international background and a passion for lifelong learning to the Smile Centre team. Born in Germany, he has also lived in Austria and Switzerland before completing high school on New Zealand's North Island. He earned his first degree in Microbiology from the University of Otago before pursuing his dental education at CEU Cardenal Herrera University in Spain.

After graduating, Dr. Oellinger practised dentistry in both Spain and Switzerland before completing the NDEB Equivalency Process to become licensed to practise dentistry in Canada. He chose to make Canada his new home to continue growing professionally, embrace new opportunities, and provide exceptional care to his patients.

Dr. Oellinger enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and appreciates the combination of hands-on clinical care, problem-solving, and building meaningful relationships with his patients. He is committed to helping people improve their oral health, feel comfortable throughout their treatment, and achieve healthy, confident smiles. He is passionate about continuing education and is always looking for opportunities to expand his knowledge and refine his skills.

Outside the office, Dr. Oellinger enjoys travelling, learning new languages, and experiencing different cultures. He loves exploring new places, trying different cuisines, and spending time outdoors hiking, camping, and canoeing. A sports enthusiast, he also enjoys watching rugby and soccer whenever he gets the chance. His family (and his beloved dog, Pablo) currently live in Switzerland, and he looks forward to building lasting relationships with his patients and becoming part of the local community here in Canada.
